This site was initially set up for the immediate neighbours of the Reservoir Site, following the successful “Meet the Neighbours Night” held on 1 May 2007. At this event the Condon family proposed the establishment of a web site to provide easy access for neighbours in the immediate vicinity of the Reservoir Site to obtain information about the planning process and also to be able to provide feedback. The site is now for use by all in the Lennox community as a source of information and a feedback tool. We’ll update this site periodically as we move forward.
The Reservoir Site (so named because of the Council Water Reservoir on its North Creek Road boundary) has been owned by local farming family, the Condon’s, for over 48 years. It has been identified as a candidate for development for future urban purposes since 1987 and more recently was identified in the award winning Ballina Shire Council Lennox Head Development Strategy as candidate release area “I”. The Strategy notes that the land is suitable for future residential uses. However, it must go through a rigorous rezoning process and also a review analysis pursuant to Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act by the Minister for Planning as a separate and additional process to the rezoning process.
The Condon family sincerely thank all those who have come along to our get togethers at Rubys. We encourage all residents and owners of land in the immediate vicinity of the Reservoir Site to continue to provide comment and feedback.
Thank you,
Margaret Condon | Condon Family
